Before I began this new phase of promoting there are always various ideas on how to present it. A compilation of songs with accompanying visuals or taking a song I have been sent and creating visuals for it which in my head is what happened in the end
I used to love shooting bands at gigs which was the start of it all. Although I had been filming and editing before this gig, The Shapes music video was my first paid project. Below, is the footage of their live performance I shot. All recorded with the camera, no overdubbing
I have had the off project from a client. I use information the band has, I look through my archives and source footage. I then send a basic draft of the edited footage. Any changes or ideas I have that could benefit are taken onboard and are normally cleared to adjust the product accordingly. With what I have produced, I find great footage while sourcing, it can generate more ideas. The client is regularly updated. I can produce to a deadline as there is usually a release date.
New Ideas. An example of new ideas is my fasination with local music shop history ( I used to own a record shop ) and you have these ideas floating around. This store is no longer around but at the time I found out he had not long opened at this location. Mac’s Music Store” was all shot on location.
Music Reviewed in a Visual Style. This song was sent to me for promotion ( Contacts from doing radio) This is something I like as well. This song is by Floral Image was sent by a PR company. I like their music and decided to put visuals to it. The footage came from my vaults, and sourced more.
